FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What is Anigrams Productions?
A: As of now, it's a one-man show run by myself. My plan is to design games for girls and young women that aren't all about pretty pink ponies and rainbows. This isn't to say that all of my games will only be for girls, but as a young woman myself, that's what I'm most interested in doing.

Q: What types of games do you make?
A: My main forte is visual novels, since it's a medium I can easily work with. This may change in the future as I branch out and experiment with different programs and mediums.

Q: Are your games free?
A: Yes! I don't plan on putting a price tag on any of my games for the foreseeable future. Certainly, the games currently listed will always be free. If I decide to release a commercial game in the future, I'll make it very clear.

Q: Where can I play your games?
A: Available downloads are shown in a link panel to the left. If you cannot access the download for whatever reason, leave a comment somewhere and I'll fix the link. Everything you need to play the game should be included in the .zip file. The files are generally quite large, simply due to the mass number of files involved. If you have a slow internet connection, you can request a version of the game without music, which should significantly decrease the download time.

Q: What progam(s) do you use to make your games?
A: I use a Python-based visual novel engine called Ren'Py. I highly recommend it to anyone who thinks they may want to make games of their own, but don't know where to start. To make the graphics, I use a free graphics program called GIMP.

Q: Where do you get the artwork used in your games?
A: Background art is generally from free resource sites, many of which are listed here. If I have the money, I'll commission background art. All of the character art I use was commissioned from various artists.

Q: Can I play your games on a Mac?
A: Yes! I will release all of my games in such a way that Windows, Mac, and Linux users should all be able to operate them.

Memoirs of an Angel

Q: Can you change the name of the girl you're playing?
A: No. The game is very obviously her story, so it doesn't seem right (or necessary) to be able to change her name. It rarely ever shows up, anyway.

Q: Can you marry any of the love interests?
A: Each bachelor has their own unique ending if they're in love with you by the end. Because some endings are happier or more romantic than others, whether a wedding is involved or not simply depends on the character.

Q: Will there be any rivals?

A: There won't be any rivals in the way of another girl trying to pair up with your man. However, some may be rivals against each other, Chael and Kirile in particular.

Q: Does time pass in the game?
A: Yes, but it's not like there is a clock where you can measure each minute ticking by. Rather, time passes with events. When in town, for instance, each action will cause time to pass to the next part of the day (like from Morning to Afternoon) until it is time to return to the inn and rest. Time also passes when you travel from one part of the empire to another; in particular, the season will change when you travel to a new province.

Q: Is there a time limit?
A: Not exactly, but there may be consequences if you take too long (i.e. taking five years to complete the main storyline instead of the one year it should generally take).
